RUN OF SHOW
Call the show from the document you actually built it in
The running order is the one document everybody on site needs and nobody agrees on. eventru builds it from the agenda with timed cues, presenters, A/V and mic assignments — and then runs it live, so the version the show caller is calling is the version the crew are reading.
| Cue | Item | Audio |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Walk-in | Walk-up playlist |
| 2 | Welcome · Priya Nair | Mic 1 live |
| 2a | Sting into video | VT audio |
| 3 | The year in numbers | Mic 1, 2 |
The problem
The running order stops being true the moment it is printed
A cue moves in the tech rehearsal, somebody scribbles on their copy, and now there are six documents on site and one of them is right. On the day, the cost of that is a missed cue in front of an audience.
Cues, presenters, A/V and mics in one running order
Build the run of show from the agenda: timed cues and sub-cues, who is on stage, what is on screen, what audio is live or faded. Mic channels are planned automatically — the same presenter keeps the same channel all show — and a double-patched channel is flagged rather than hidden.
- Timed cues and sub-cues with durations that cascade
- Automatic mic plot, with clashes surfaced
- Live/fade state per source, the same on screen and on paper
| Cue | Item | Audio |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Walk-in | Walk-up playlist |
| 2 | Welcome · Priya Nair | Mic 1 live |
| 2a | Sting into video | VT audio |
| 3 | The year in numbers | Mic 1, 2 |
Crew read it on their own devices, filtered to their role
Crew join over the local network in a browser — no install — and see the columns their role is meant to see. Filtering is enforced on the server, so a role that cannot see the client's notes genuinely cannot.
- Browser only for crew, no app to install
- Per-role columns, enforced server-side
- A dropped connection never blanks a screen
Opening keynote: Atlas in 2027
Day 1 · 09:15–10:30 · Thrale SuiteIt keeps working when the venue's wifi does not
The show runs on the local network. Internet loss is a non-event: the running order, the cues and the crew views keep working, because none of them depend on reaching us.
- Local-first — nothing on screen waits on the internet
- A per-role print pack for the people who want paper
- Presenters can manage their own item, and only theirs
Questions
About agenda & run of show
What is a run of show?
A run of show is the minute-by-minute running order a live event is called from: every cue in sequence with its timing, who is on stage, what is on screen, and what audio and lighting state each moment needs. It is the document the show caller reads from and the crew follow.
Can crew see the run of show on their own phones?
Yes. Crew join over the local network in a browser with no install, and each role sees the columns that role is meant to see. The filtering happens on the server, so it is a permission rather than a hidden column.
Does it work if the venue wifi drops?
Yes. The show runs on the local network and nothing on screen waits on the internet, so losing connectivity does not interrupt calling the show. That is a design rule, not a best effort.
Is there a desktop version for the show PC?
Yes — Run of Show Live is a downloadable desktop app the operator runs on the show PC, sold separately from an eventru subscription, with crew joining over the local network. It links to an eventru event so the running order does not have to be rebuilt.
